At just over an acre in size Dragon is the first lake you come to on entering Lavender Hall Fishery.
Dragon has two central islands with 21 pegs available to fish and has proved to be one of the most popular match/pleasure lakes at the fishery with the match record currently standing at 198lbs.
It’s 5ft on average and 6ft at it’s deepest in open water areas. Depths of 2ft around the two islands but be wary of fishing to close to the islands as there are tree root’s present.
The lake stock really is sublime with plenty of carp and f1’s to go for. There is also a few silvers as well.
There is an aeration system in place that provide’s perfect conditions for this heavily stocked mixed species lake.
Dragon is also very suitable for disabled anglers as it is possible to park your car/s right behind one of the five BDAA award winning peg’s that are very user friendly and are ideal for anglers who struggle with mobility etc.
General Rules
We take pride in looking after our fish, the rules are designed to ensure the fish come first.
- Anglers must put all litter in the bins.
- No surface fishing.
- No standing up with fish.
- Please check fins are flat to the fish before lifting the net.
- No bagging wagglers.
- Barbless hooks only.
- Minimum breaking strain line of 4lb
- Please respect fellow anglers.
- 2 rod limit per angler.
- Make sure all net’s, mat’s and slings are dipped in our net dip before going down to the lake.
- No braided reel lines.
- No guest’s.
- Dog’s are allowed only if they are quiet and well behaved. Make sure to clean up after them.
- Anglers must have a current rod licence.
- No bolt rigs, make sure the lead can drop off if the fish get’s snagged etc.
- Any anglers breaking these rules will be asked to leave without a refund.
Match Rules
- Dip all nets as soon as you get on-site.
- Two Keepnets or more must be used from the start in all matches.
- A 60lb limit in each net with fish distributed evenly between nets.
- No swinging fish in, a landing net must be used for every fish.
- No pole cups over the water before all in.
- Match official decisions are final.
- Offenders will be disqualified.

Went on 2nd July. 1st time on the bank in over 12 years and loved every minute! Place is clean, lakes well stocked, all the fish are well looked after and everyone is friendly. Had over 20 fish out, so I left with a massive smile.

1st time here 4 decent bites landed 3 around 3/4 pounds no other bites. In 6 hours was here I was only 1 of 8 I could see who caught. Tried various methods of fishing didn’t make any difference.
Cafe staff and surroundings 1st class will try again another day.
