Station Netting Report - POSTED ON 24.01.19
As I'm sure you are aware we recently netted Station our specimen lake. In fact it was just over a month ago now, sorry we haven't released this info sooner we have been flat out working on the peg's and the road etc.
Before the netting the aim was to reduce the carp stock from from around 120 fish to around 60 and to remove all of the silver's .
To say it went well would be an understatement, here it goes;
We ended up putting 80 Carp back, the simple reason was the stamp of fish were simply to good to move on. 50% of the Carp that went back were 20lb+, two of them were 30lb+! The 40 we took out were moved on to Oak lake, these were generally the smaller fish and ones that had mouth damage etc, the average size of these were still 15lb though, including two 20lbers!
Onto the silver's, we removed 900lb of silvers out of Station in total! These were graded and the best 200lb were put into our new Silver fish lake Brook. (Netting info for Ben's & Brook will be released tomorrow)
The removal of both the smaller carp and silver's will make a huge difference to growth rates this year.
We did photograph and record weight's of every fish that went back, so going forward a new rule on Station is every fish must be weighed and photographed, in the day time we will come and do this for you if you need help, just ring the office (01676530299). In the night, if you are on your own and have no help then just a weight recorded and mat picture will suffice.
The first angler to catch any carp over the 30lb mark for the first time will have the privilege to name that fish. There are also a handful of other fish also coming through the ranks that will hopefully break the 30lb barrier in the not so distant future. Any thirties caught must be weighed and photographed by a member of staff.
Next up for Station is to get all of the peg's completed and then to lime the lake.
Last but not least thanks to JS Fisheries and everyone who helped on the day, it's really appreciated!

wORK ON specimen lake station is underway - POSTED ON 14.01.19
Work on Station has started today meaning the roadside peg, peg 11 will be shut now until further notice as it get’s completely reconstructed.
The remainder of the peg’s will also be reconstructed following the completion of peg 11, we will keep you up to date of what peg will be closed and when.
We are aiming to get all work done on Station ready for the spring, this will obviously be weather dependant.
Anyone fishing down there over the next few months may experience a little disturbance, but hopefully nothing too major.
Thanks for your co-operation at this time, we only do this work to make it better for you folks and we can assure you that come the spring Station will be looking pristine.

wORK ON ROAD IS NOW COMPLETE - POSTED ON 12.01.19
So we’ve been flat out this past week working on our bumpy old track down to the fishery. We have ‘repaired’ it in a different way to what we have tried before with the aim of it lasting.
We also aim to maintain the road on a weekly basis so it doesn’t get that bad again.
We thank our customers for putting up with it towards the tail end of last year when it did get pretty bad, please do not speed down the track now it is flat as this will be detrimental to the road surface.
If not this weekend then we hope to see you in the not to distant future (HD)
